Weekend Day
- 6:00am- 4:30pm Shift pattern will be Friday – Sunday (week 1) and Thursday – Sunday (week 2)
Weekend Night - 4pm – 2:30am (10 hours) Shift pattern will be Friday – Sunday (week 1) and Thursday – Sunday (week 2)

Wages: $24.00 hourly Based on experience (10% premium for working night shift

IEM Canada is seeking experienced and hard-working individuals to join our team as Busbar Fabricator.
 

Responsibilities:

· Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate materials and equipment.

· Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as press brakes, rolls, punch press, shears, CNC turret punch, cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.

· Maneuver 12’x6’ sheet metal

· Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.

· Fabricate, modify and/or install various metallic or non-metallic items and components.

· Perform metal corrections and touch-up painting as directed.

· Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations.

· Set up, operate and maintain production tools and equipment.

· Keep the supervisor informed of problems, progress and suggestions in a timely manner.

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.

· Identify opportunities that provide cost effective alternative methods to process and materials.

· Keep red-lines and mark ups of any drawing changes required during manufacturing and turn into supervisor upon their request.

· Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.
 

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • At least 2 years of fabrication experience
  • Experience using fabricating machines preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently bend, squat, crawl and climb
  • Ability to work quickly with your hands while maintaining accuracy and high quality
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions, including navigating a computer, using a mouse and keyboard, and entering or accessing information as required.
  •  Strong work ethic and motivation to learn
  • Must be a team player

Physical Demands:

  • Activities: Sitting – 5% Walking/Standing – 95%
  • Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb.
  • Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
