What will you be responsible for:

  • Complete assembly and wiring of electrical components
  • Use wire termination and component layout tools including but not limited to strippers, wire cutters, wire crimpers, screwdrivers, tee square, machinist square, tape measure, wrenches and pliers.
  • Follow company established practices for wire termination, routing, bundles, wire harnesses and wire numbers.
  • Mount electrical components including circuit breakers, switches, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices and/or all other related switchgear electrical devices.
  • Meeting production schedules while maintaining IEM’s strictest quality standards
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of problems, progress and suggestions in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines.
  • Independently inspect own work for in process defects to ensure error-free products.
  • Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety of methods including drilling and tapping.
  • Identify opportunities that provide cost effective alternative methods to process and materials.
  • Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

What you need to be part of our team:

  • High School Diploma
  • To be physically fit and mechanically inclined; prior use of hand tools (i.e. impact drill/driver)
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions, including navigating a computer, using a mouse and keyboard, and entering or accessing information as required.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment and perform physical requirements of the job, which may include standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50lbs and completing repetitive tasks for long period of time
  • Ability to work quickly with your hands while maintaining accuracy and high quality
  • Must have own transport as there is no public transit in the area
  • Proven Safe Work Record

Physical/Mental/Environment:

Physical Demands:
  • Activities: Sitting – 5% Walking/Standing – 95%
  • Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb.
  • Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.
  • Hand and arm strength: requires a strong, firm grip to hold onto wires for long periods of time
  • Coordination: frequent ladder use
Mental Demands:
  • Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment:
  • Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
